CodingFreaks V2 Updates

After months of development, the complete backend infrastructure has been migrated to v2.

News

This update brings significant security improvements, new features, and better performance across all services.

Enhanced Security Standards

Security is the foundation of v2. The new infrastructure was built with modern security practices from the ground up.
All microservice components now run in isolated containers/pods.

This ensures strict separation between services, reduces attack surfaces, enables rapid deployment of security patches and zero-downtime deployments.

Additional Security Measures

  • Vulnerability scanning
  • Enhanced logging and real-time monitoring with OTEL.
  • Regular security audits
  • PoLP (Principle of least privilege) across all services
  • Secrets management through encrypted vaults and no database access for microservices.
  • Network segmentation between services
  • PHP Hardening
  • Apache Hardening & Modsec
  • Strict firewall rules with default-deny policies
  • File integrity monitoring
  • and more..

These measures represent a significant step forward in protecting both the platform and user data.
