Advanced Options Available:

Fine-tune the scan to meet your needs.

  • Max Pages:
    • Set the maximum number of pages to scan. Default is 10 increasing this require a free API key.
  • XPath for the Cookie Consent button:
    • Specify an XPath to locate the cookie consent button on your website. Only if you want to check with an accepted consent. Learn more about XPath syntax here.
  • ngrok - skip Browser Warning: Enable this option to bypass browser warnings when using ngrok for local development.

Important note: If you scan as a guest (not logged in), you will always see a generic report.

1. Scan Overview

  • Banner Accepted/or not:
    Shows if the cookie banner was accepted or not provided by the Advanced Options (xpath).
    Remember, if you scan with consent, all third-party services/cookies will be found.
    If you want to perform a privacy check, you must scan without consent. Simply leave the field empty.

  • Detected Services:
    The number of known services detected on your website, found in our Cookie Database. (Expect unknown services, listed as "Unknown" to be manually checked and added to Consent-Configuration`).

  • Cookies found:
    Number of cookies found on your website. (First and third-party cookies).

  • Total Requests:
    The total number of requests made by the scanner to your website during the scan. (Includes all resources like images, scripts, etc.)

  • Sites Scanned/Visited:
    Number of pages visited during the scan. (Crawled or provided by Sitemap.xml input on scan start).

2. Detail Cookie/Service Overview

  • Service Name:
    The name of the service used on your website. (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
    Use the Details button to see more information about the service loaded Requests and its cookies.

  • Unknown Services:
    Services not found in our Cookie Database are listed as "Unknown".
    You can classify these services by clicking on the "Unknown" button and adding them to your Consent-Configuration.

  • Request:
    A visual representation of the Scan Overview including Requests/Cookies made by the scanner to your website.

To scan more than 10 pages, you need to create an account and get a free API key. This ensures we avoid misuse and bot traffic.

How do I integrate the scanner into my website?

Web Scanning:

  1. Go to our website and sign in or create an account.
  2. Reload this page, and under advanced options, increase the scan limit.

Plugin Integration:

  1. Sign in and create a new project for your website.
  2. Retrieve your API key from the "General" section of the project settings.
  3. Add the API key to the plugin settings on your website.

What should I do with the final report?

Why is the report incomplete or not displayed?

If some tabs are missing or the report doesn’t load:

  • Check if you’re using Brave or an ad-blocker extension. Disable these for the scanning page to avoid false positives and ensure proper display of the report.
